Representatives of ”Nicolae Testemitanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Laureates of the Medical Elite Gala 2022

Teaching and scientific staff from Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova have become laureates of the Medical Elites Gala 2022 - a festivity of Romanian and international medical personalities with which excellence in the field of health is celebrated. The gala was organized by Ziar Medical and Dorna Medical brands, in collaboration with Grigore T. Popa Iași University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the College of Physicians of Iași on November 4, 2022.

According to the organizers, this year's edition marked the recognition and appreciation of the medical act and scientific performances, the professionalism and constant efforts in the carried out activity, as well as the efficient management and dedication to the profession.

Among the laureates is the rector of Nicolae Testemitanu University, Habilitated Doctor of medical sciences, Professor Emil Ceban, who received an award for his management activity and contribution to the development of the medical system in the Republic of Moldova. "The merits do not belong to me, but to the entire team of the University, the teaching staff, the medical system and all the doctors in the Republic of Moldova", emphasized the rector.

Academician Gheorghe Ghidirim, Habilitated Doctor of medical sciences, university professor at Nicolae Anestiadi Department of Surgery No. 1, was granted the Award for the entire medical activity. 

"My gratitude goes to all those who have appreciated my life-long work in the field of medicine and medical science, but also the management I have developed in a field as noble as it is an undertaken commitment. The award has a special meaning for me also due to the fact that it is given to me in a city close to my heart – Iași – and I have so many good memories here, as well as the relations with the surgeons with whom I have collaborated over time", the renowned surgeon noted.

Assistant Professor Angela Tomacinschii, Department of Family Medicine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Chief Physician of the University Clinic of Primary Medical Care of Nicolae Testemitanu University, was mentioned in the Best Family Doctor category. "It is an appreciation of the work carried out for 20 years in the field of primary health care and an additional reason to put more effort into providing patients with quality medical services. The appreciation offered is, in fact, a joint success of the entire team of the University Clinic of Primary Medical Care, whom I thank for support, understanding and the work we do together with dedication", emphasized Angela Tomacinschii.

An award was bestowed upon Oleg Solomon, president of the Moldavian Association of Stomatologists, Associate Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences and dean of the Faculty of Stomatology, under The Most Dynamic Medical Society nomination. "Thank you for noticing and appreciating our work. This award motivates us not to stop at this point and to generate new projects!" stated Oleg Solomon.

The Gala of the Medical Elites brought together over 400 outstanding personalities in the field of health - internationally recognized and appreciated medical and academic staff, medical societies, representatives of the political decision-making, diplomatic and administrative environment, businessmen, opinion leaders, journalists and representatives of patient associations.

The event was anticipated on November 3 by the Forum of medical services and technologies, the 4th  edition, held in partnership with Nicolae Testemitanu University. The event is dedicated to all healthcare professionals and provides an opportunity for a valuable exchange of specialized information, as well as for establishing genuine connections with other medical experts. The scientific event is a landmark in the medical field due to the covered topics, the presence of health professionals and experts, as well as the exhibited novelties and innovations.

The theme of the current edition was a complex one, bringing to the attention of the audience symposia, conferences and workshops in the fields of emergency medicine, health management and health policies, cardiovascular medicine, oncology, family medicine and obstetrics and gynecology.
