Pharmacy students – volunteers in Ukrainian refugee support activities

More than twenty young people – students from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and members of the Association of Pharmacy Students of the Republic of Moldova participated, on March 5, in the division and packaging of essential medicines for Ukrainian citizens, refugees in our country. The medicines were donated to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova (MoH) by the World Health Organization (WHO) with the support of the European Union (EU) through a humanitarian donation.
Drugs were delivered in bulk production batches, and in order to be more easily distributed, it was necessary to divide them. The activity was carried out within the Basic Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms Section of Vasile Procopisin University Pharmaceutical Center of Nicolae Testemitanu University in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the WHO.
Young pharmacists volunteered to support Ukrainian refugees, expressing solidarity and empathy with those in need of help.
In the context of the state of emergency, the WHO provided the Ministry of Health with a ton of essential medicines and medical supplies, kits with essential medicines and for non-communicable diseases. Humanitarian aid will be distributed by the Ministry of Health through the Sanfarm-Prim pharmaceutical warehouse, according to the needs of the medical facilities arranged in the centers for Ukrainian refugees of the Republic of Moldova.
